Northeast Animal Shelter - Salem, MA

For the month of March we will be recognizing the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA.  This shelter was founded in 1976 and is one of  New Englands largest non-profit, no kill facilities.  They are celebrating their 40th year in operation, and in that time have helped over 120,000 animals.  Their efforts are not strictly focus on local animals.  Northeast Animal Shelter works with facilities around the country, with the goal of placing animals with new families. They are currently working with partners at Southern Journey an organizations that transports dogs from Georgia to Massachusetts where they will find their forever home.

Ready to start helping animals in need? Visit their website to learn more about the organization, adopting or fostering a pet or other ways you can get involved.

Northeast Animal Shelter

Every month we are going to help bring attention to a local animal shelter.  Local Animal Heroes.com was started by a Massachusetts based animal advocate, but that does not mean we can't observe the awesome work animal rescue facilities are doing around the country.

Feel free to comment on our blog section with stories of amazing work  you would like recognized.  We are happy to use our reach to shed light on deserving organizations.
